seasaltkeys | Day 43 [video/Action for around Goldenrod.]

[Today's video starts in the woods, being propped up by some tree branches. It's recording a pokemon battle.

Roxas stands in a battle position with Joltik on his head, Sparky the Pikachu on his right and Xion the Luxray on the left. They're facing down a rather larger hoard of nidorans, yanmas, growlithes, and various other wild pokemon in the area. If anyone gets a good look at Roxas, they would notice a yellow glow about him, as well as the fact that his hair is defying gravity more than usual.

There's a pause for a moment and then battle is on. There's electricity flying everywhere and Roxas is in the thick of things, tossing out electric attacks with the best of them. Thunderwave and thunderbolt and spark and it's amazing that the forest is largely intact after this fight.

The dust finally settles and Roxas goes to face the gear.]

I was feeling better, so I went out to train and that happened. Next thing I know, I'm able to use pokemon attacks and wild pokemon are coming after me like crazy.

[He looks over his shoulder to see more pokemon coming. He raises his hand and it crackles with electricity. The screen starts wavering and making a weird popping, static sound before it cuts out.]

What exactly's go---[kzzzt! sshkshkshskshk!]

[ooc: So Roxas shorted out his gear. Any video responses will come several hours later as he had to ask Namine to get him a new gear. Hopefully, rubber gloves will prevent him from doing that again. For action, he's in and around Goldenrod.]

[She figures staying connected is the best way since of the things happening lately.]

Thanks Namine. I'll try not to short that one out as well.

[He looks a little sheepish]

I guess in front of the pokemart. I'll collect things here and meet you there.

Just be careful, please. I know Ven's mentioned you could cause sparks more when there are other things that cause them around you.

[She'll have to make sure she's a few good feet from him 8'| Although her mutation is mild, having several patches of fish like scales on your hands and legs is not fun and she's still sort of a water type.]

I'll go on ahead. Meet you there.

[And off she goes!]

I'll do my best. I gotta stay away from anything that conducts electricity then.

[That's going to be a challenge. Once Namine leaves, he gathers up everything that might have been dropped, including the broken gear. He sighs. He had thing for two years so it sucks to give it up.

But soon enough he's making his way to the pokemon mart, walking in the middle of the street, but that doesn't stop the lights from flickering.]

[Oh geez. She comes out of the mart with gear and something else underneath it; a pair of rubber gloves. She... really doesn't know how else to help. she makes her way over, trying to get as near as possible-- yeah, no, one of her locks of hair is already twitching. If the lights keep flickering, there's probably static in the air.

She pulls out a pokeball and calls out Pastel the Phanpy, and keeping a hand on his back, makes her way over. Let's test Ven's theory out that a ground pokemon will help lessen the static.]

A little bit. I'm not trying to do anything. It's just happening.

[Really. If he could stop the lights flickering, he would.]

What's with the phanpy?

There must be a way for you to control it though.

[She takes another hesitant step forward.]

Ven has the same problem as you. He has a theory though that keeping a ground pokemon would help lessen the static, since they're immune to electric.

Phan!

Yeah. I'll probably be able to figure it out. I mean, I had a pretty good handle on it when I was battling.

So Ven got electric powers to, huh? Guess we can try the ground pokemon theory.

[He's hesitant to touch Pastel though. He doesn't want to accidently hurt the pokemon.]

It's fine. Pastel's immune to electric.

[She pets him on the head.]

Phaaan!

Right.

[Roxas reaches out and places his hand on Pastel. He doesn't feel any different, except for maybe a little bit grounded.]

I guess I'm going to need a ground pokemon or something.

You can borrow him for a while. Don't you have any?

[Pastel uses his snout to pat Roxas' hand curiously.]

I don't actually. I guess I just never caught one.

[Battled plenty, sure, but never caught on.]

You don't mind? Should I let you hang on to one of mine?

No, it's fine. I know I can trust you with him.

Phan-phan-py!

I'll take good care of him, Namine. Don't worry.

[He'll give Phanpy a little pat on the head.]</small.

[She hands him the gear and gloves carefully afterward too.

Ironically (or not) the gloves are black. She couldn't find anything else :x]

[Oh well, it's just something he'll have to deal with. He'll pull the gloves on before taking the gear.]

The gloves seem to be working. I don't see any sparks.
