Day 15 - Video

[Roxas appears on the video screen, Sparky on his shoulder. He's in a pokemon center, that much is clear, and he looks a little worse for the wear, but that's just because he hasn't had the chance to clean himself up yet]

I made it to Azalea. [pause] I needed to think about stuff, that's why I left Violet. [No more on that subject]

Uh..I caught another pokemon, which gives me six. The guidebook says that's all I can carry so what happens any other pokemon I capture? Am I not allowed to catch anymore or do they go somewhere? 

[he trails off, looking around, until another thought comes to him]

There's a lot of slowpoke at the Slowpoke Well that don't have their tails. They looked really sad. What happened?

[There's some conversation in the back, and Roxas sets down the gear. The angle's sort of distorted but you can sort of see that Roxas has a plate of food, and that Sparky's beside him with food also]

How does that work? Aren't you only given one when you get here? I only have one.

You are yeah, but then you can use it to catch other ones using a pokeball.

Those small things? Ugh, they must be so uncomfortable! Isn't that cruel?

The pokemon don't seem to mind. I...don't think.

I'm not going to force them to stay in some cramped little sphere. It just seems too mean.

Maybe it's not cramped for them, but I'm sure that having them out will make them happy. Sparky usually is.

I think pokemon just like to be around people, whether they're inside a pokeball or not.

Well, she hasn't stopped following me since I've arrived, that's for sure. So you might be right about that.

From what I've figured out, they're supposed to be our partners and companions. We look after them, and they protect us.

It's where I was before I came here. There were monsters there, too. Only they were called Digimon instead.

I had one as a partner there, too.

Sounds like it was pretty neat. I guess pokemon are kind of like digimon.

Sparky? Oh, that's right, you can give Pokemon other names.

Yeah, but I haven't been able to come up with names for most of my other pokemon though.

It feels strange giving them other names. Oddish will just be Oddish to me.
