Has anyone seen Kairi around? I haven't seen or heard from her for a while.

Uh...Namine, are you still in Violet? Sora, what about you?

It's raining again. I hope it doesn't flood like last time.

Yeah. If she did, I hope she made it back safe.

[Roxas left the pokemon center, and is glad he bought an umbrella. He knows Violet pretty well now, so he gets to the outskirts of town and is now looking around for Sora]

[Sora was not quite so lucky in finding shelter- he's standing right between Route 31 and the entrance to town, trying to shield himself from the rain by holding his backpack over his head. it's not really working.]

[when he does spot Roxas, he raises a hand way above his head, waving.]

Hey! Roxas!

[Roxas turns his head when he hears Sora, and has to do a double take. It's like his dreams have come to life or something. He's kinda weirded out by the whole thing.]

Hi.

[He walks over, not really sure what else to say, but he does offer part of his umbrella.]

[Sora looks grateful for the umbrella space, and scoots closer so he's at least halfway out of the rain's line of fire. he slings his backpack over his shoulder, and smiles at Roxas warmly.]

Sheesh, some weather, huh? It's been so nice ever since I got here.

Yeah. it's been a while since it rained. The last time there was a big flood.

[Roxas sorta tilts the umbrella over Sora a bit more. It's easier because of his height. There's a slight glance at the sky to see if the rain will lighten up.]

Seriously?

[now he's peeking out from under the umbrella to check the sky, too.]

Y'think we should head for high ground then, Roxas?

I think we'll be alright. The flood wasn't normal, so I don't think we have to worry about it.

We should probably get out of the rain though.

Good call! You can lead the way. And.. thanks for the umbrella space.

[rubs the back of his head, a bit sheepish. he wants to ask about the flood, but that's probably a question for when they're not standing out in the rain and in potential mud puddles.]]

[Roxas starts to walk back into town, a bit slower than usual so that Sora can keep up]

I guess we won't be battling in this weather.

Doesn't look that way. Looks like I'll have to put off training with Ven, too.

[watch, Sora might not even notice that Roxas and Ven are identical until they're either standing next to each other or he puts two and two together.]

[Make sure you can tell them apart, Sora]

Yeah. My travel plans are on hold to.

Really? What's holding you back?

[Sora gets a little push for that]

My battle with you.

[hey, buddy! Sora elbows Roxas lightly in the arm in retaliation.]

I guess I better make sure I give you the battle of a lifetime, then! Since you waited and all.

Yeah, you better. What levels are your pokemon?

... Um. Not as high as they could be.. Puddles doesn't really like to fight, and Dapper- well, he's still being kinda sting-y.

But don't worry, Roxas! It won't take us long to train up and kick your butt.

I'll hold you to that, except for the kicking my butt part.

[There's a small pause]

So, you really haven't heard from Kairi?

[to that, his expression, and even his posture completely deflate. it's an awful lot like letting the air out of a balloon.]

No.. She was traveling with Riku, but I guess they got separated. She just.. disappeared.

[Roxas nods]

Maybe she'll come back. I mean, you did. And so did Namine.

I hope so.. Heck, she might come back shorter, too.

Who's Namine?

Yeah, she might. [Although that would mean that fewer people know who he is]

She's...like me. I don't know too much about her, but she's special.

Like you? You mean..

[he doesn't know exactly why he trails off. he might feel strange about prying, or making Roxas feel like he's being interrogated, curious as Sora is about Nobodies. maybe this isn't exactly the kind of conversation for strolling out in the rain under the same umbrella, either.]

Yeah, she's a nobody to. But I'm not sure whose. It's confusing. But she's nice.

[That's about all Roxas can say. It's a subject he doesn't want to get into either. He kind of looks away, and narrowly avoids stepping in a mud puddle]

[Sora frowns when Roxas' gaze turns elsewhere. he can hardly blame him, though- how can he? it's awkward, being connected to someone and not understanding why- so he reaches up to pat him lightly on the shoulder. it's the best comforting gesture he's got.]

Look, Roxas.. I've got a lot of questions, but I know they'll get answered when I'm ready to have the answers. So let's just focus on being friends for now, okay?

[Slight pause, and then Roxas has a small smile]

Okay. That's probably best. I have questions to, after all.
