[It takes a moment for Roxas to reply. He's a little sleeper, but he has to clue in that this is an actual message.]

Yeah? Xion?

[ There's a sound of her letting out a breath of air, and the anxiety seems to lessen just a little. ]

Yeah, it's me. Um, sorry to call you so late at night- [ she fumbles a little. ]

I just... wanted to see if you were still there, that's all.

It's okay. I'm here, don't really plan on going anywhere.

[There's a silence as he figures out what to say.]

They'll be back. You don't have to worry.

Well, I’m not sure you get to choose to go or not, Roxas. [ But it’s actually said with some light humor. Hearing him say he wasn’t going... it’s reassuring, somehow, despite the fact that she’s not sure she can truly believe it just yet.

She’s silent for a moment as well after his words. When she speaks again, she’s a little quieter. ]

Yeah, that’s what everyone says, but- [ Hesitation; they’ve so rarely spoken of Sora since she arrived here. It was such a loaded topic between them and a delicate thing to break, now, but she can’t help it. ]

...you felt that, right? When Sora left.

[He will out stubborn the universe if he has to.]

Yeah. I did.

[And he's annoyed about it, which Xion can probably feel. If Roxas takes any meaning from it, it's that Sora's off being an idiot somewhere.]

[ He's an inspiration, honestly.

She certainly can feel his annoyance, and although she doesn't fully understand it... she's not sure she wants to press it too hard, just yet. ]

It was so strange... I just- hope he's okay, is all. [ There's a slight pause. So many people leaving, Lea still stuck in a crystal... Everyone keeps telling her this is all normal but- it's a lot to take in and get used to. ]

I was... really worried you'd disappear too. [ Or herself, if she's honest, but she doesn't say that out loud. ]

He probably is. Knowing Sora, he's probably done something stupid, but he won't be alone in doing it.

[He's all too familiar with his Other.]

I'm still here.

I guess that's all we can really hope for.

[ But there's a smile in her voice at that and Roxas' continued assurance that he was still here. She's a bit surprised at his offer, but can't keep the hope out of her voice all the same. ]

Really? You don't mind? It is... kinda late. [ ~~whoops ]~~

I'm awake now anyway...and if it would make you feel better.

Axel the Cat wouldn't mind either.

I... think it might. [ She says, quietly. And then, louder, ]

Oh! Well, I don't want to disappoint Axel the Cat. [ There's a smile in her voice at that. ]

Okay. I'll be right over.

[ And a short time later Xion shows up at the door, still in a pair of too-long pajama pants and everything. She knocks, unsure how loud to do so considering the hour (but also lack of the usual amount of people in the house, and all.) ]

Roxas?

Okay.

[Is the acknowledgement. But when she knocks at the door, Roxas is there to answer. He looks tired, but he's also awake and has his cat draped around his neck.]

Hey. The couch is free right now, but there's a lot of space in the house.

[ Roxas is certainly a welcome sight, and the cat (possibly) even more so. Xion gives them both a tired smile, although her eyes light up. ]

Hey. You were right, you really are still here. And Axel the Cat, too. [ She's joking. Mostly. But she nods at his explanation. ]

Oh, right. Thank you. I don't... really want to impose, or anything like that, um-

I wouldn't lie about something like that.

[He waves her in.]

It's fine, really. This isn't a problem Xion. You're always welcome here.

Yeah, of course not. But you wouldn't be lying if you disappeared before I could get here. [ Another half-joke, half-not ...She's really maybe worrying a little too much, but it's late and other people really were disappearing, so she can't think of herself as too ridiculous about it just yet. She follows him into the house gratefully, and her smiles grows at hearing that she's welcome. ]

Thanks, Roxas. [ She takes a relieved breath, genuinely feeling better just from seeing him in person. ]

Are you... gonna go back up to bed right away?

I wasn't planning to...I mean, I'm awake now. Might as well make sure you're comfortable first.

[It'll probably take him a while to fall back asleep anyway.]

Then it'll be like a "sleepover." [ She announces, sounding very much like someone parroting something she overheard someone else talk about without fully understanding what it is, herself. ]

But... from what I hear that's stuff like watching movies and talking and... something like, painting nails? So, maybe not exactly like the ones I've heard about.

I don't know if we've got any movies...but I guess we can talk if you want.

[He's not sure about getting his nails painted either. But he'll be leading Xion in and finding some bed stuff like a blanket and pillow.]

If you're gonna stay up for a bit anyway, then we might as well... right? [ She follows along after him, moving to help carry any blankets and pillows that he ends up finding. The house is so quiet, but it seems better if she just focuses on Roxas in front of her. ]

I don't know any scary stories or anything, though. [ She bemoans, completely unaware of Roxas' aversion to ghosts. ]

I think I'm okay with that, actually.

[He does, eventually, want to get back to sleep after all.]

Yeah, I don't think I could tell them exciting enough, anyway. [ She admits, completely missing the point. There's a nod at his question, however. ]

Sure, that'd be perfect. So... you used to live here all by yourself?

Yeah. Originally it was me and Emizel, but then he moved out so it was just me. At least until Sora and Riku showed up, the first time Riku was here, and that was kind of it.

Then Sora kept bringing people in.

[Which is how they ended up with Squall and Machina.]
