Roxas, you don't need to match it. You're you and I'm me, we're different people.

[As much as things would say otherwise, Roxas having come from a part of Sora's heart... He truthfully believes they're different people. He said it so much to Roxas during his Mastery Exams.]

[It's unfortunate that Roxas is not from that canon point. He's always anted to believe that when Sora says it, but there's always been something of a block. That niggling sense that he can't let go of. That voice that doesn't let him forget that he's Sora's nobody.]

It's easy for you to say that.

[He huffs softly. He's really not sure how else to make Roxas feel better about it, though. Besides continuing to try and be his friend and not someone Roxas has to compare himself to.]

It's easy for you to say that because you get to be a person, Sora! I get to be one here, but, if I suddenly went back...I'd go back to being you. And even though you say you want me to be my own person, who's to say that's even possible. And if it is, what happens to you? There's a bigger picture here!

It doesn't matter what happens to me, if we go back you might have come back to my heart for a little while but that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop trying to figure out how to make you you're own person!

[It's probably an unfair question. Because even though Namine has told him about Xion, those memories have not come back to him. And it's not like Sora knew her. But he's a little past the point of being rational right now, like a snowball gathering speed down a hill. The weight of knowing about Xion combined with Axel leaving and buried resentments are all starting to come to the surface.]

[He'd been about to argue that him being a hero doesn't make Roxas any less important but ...

[There a moment of frustrated static as Roxas tries to find his words, but between them and the emotions it's all starting to pile up, each demanding to be felt or said first. How does he even begin to explain something he doesn't even fully understand?]

There was a girl named Xion...and she held part of your memories to. And the only way you were going to wake up was if she went back to you, but that meant everyone would forget about her.

She was my friend and I forgot all about her. Namine told me.

[He's still angry, but there's sadness mixed in now to.

And the vague sense that he wants to say more, but instead the transmission just ends because he'll just end up regretting it if he continues. At least he knows that much about himself now.]

[The transmissions ends before Sora can reply. He leaves Sora feeling confused and somewhat distraught because he doesn't know how to fix this or to make things make sense.

Xion. Part of his memories. Naminé told Roxas.

What is missing from Sora's memories now...? Is this the last piece that keeps Roxas at such a distance?
