Timeline: End of the KH2 prologue, right before he merges with Sora.

The Kingdom Hearts Wiki gives a fairly comprehensible overview of Roxas’s history.

Affiliation: I’d like for him to start as a trainer, probably as a rival-type character, and eventually get swayed to Team Rocket.

Personality: Roxas, being a nobody, should not be able to experience emotions as he lacks a heart, and therefore only have vague memories of them. However, the circumstances of his creation are unique, and he ended up existing at the same time as his somebody (which is usually destroyed when a nobody is created), Sora, Roxas has the ability to feel emotion, albeit in the extremes. Roxas also shares several personality traits with Sora, being very determined and loyal to his friends. He also possesses a similar naivety, and shares a dislike for being manipulated and having secrets kept from him. At the same time, Roxas's naivety can lead to him being swayed rather easily (though he'd probably figure it out sooner or later). Unlike Sora, however, Roxas seems to be slightly smarter than his somebody, and certainly more of a thinker. He does not share Sora's lust for life, although he does care very deeply for his own life.

At the point of canon that I am taking him, Roxas believes himself to be a normal boy. He has no memory of being a nobody or his time in Organization XIII. As a normal boy, he enjoys handing out with his friends, and generally being a kid. He's seen as a mediator, trying to smooth things over between his group of friends and Seifer's (their rivals, so to speak), but he's not afraid to stand and fight if it comes to that. He acts as a second-in-command to his friend Hayner, and is usually the one to hold him back. As the prologue progresses, and Roxas has more strange stuff happen to him, as well as learning more about Roxas, he grows increasingly frustrated. These frustrations tend to be directed at everything that bothers him (the arrival of the nobodies, Axel, whoever is in his way really). While he does end up charging ahead to figure out the truth (which ultimately leads to his doom, and has happened on more than one occasion), there is still a part of him that wants to cling to being normal. He doesn't like being told that he's not meant to exist and fights wholeheartedly for the chance to do so. He feels rage at the end of the prologue, both towards DiZ, who seems desperate to erase him, and Sora, who seems to be more important. By the end of the prologue, however, Roxas has come to realize that he has to go back to Sora, even though he wants to continue existing. While that is a selfish thought, Roxas is not selfish enough to completely abandon Sora.

By this point, Roxas has also regained his memories from before Twilight Town. He regains the ability to wield his dual keyblades, and presumably his ability to use magic though it is never actually stated, as well. With his memories, he remembers his relationship with Axel and why he left the Organization (much the same reason for his actions now, to discover the truth about himself). Regaining his memories gives Roxas an even stronger desire to continue existing since he knows now that he truly had a life before Twilight Town. There is also a sense of loss, as he no longer has a home or place to belong, having abandoned the Organization and his Twilight Town being a fake digital copy. He’s also unlikely to trust people at this point, since he’s afraid of being used again, and slightly unwilling to make friends since he seems to keep losing them. (That being said, make a deal sound really sweet to him and he might just sway). His slightly more cocky and headstrong attitude will also return, as well as his dislike for authority. He’ll be looking to carve a niche for himself, and make it apparent to everyone that he deserves to exist.

Roxas will not remember Xion, due to the fact that by the time he fought Riku in 358/2 Days, she was barely a memory, and so I assume that by the time he reaches the digital Twilight Town, she’s completely gone. That being said, the heart doesn’t really let anyone be forgotten, does it?

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths:
Strengths:
-Roxas is a very athletic, spending a lot of time out of doors. He’s good at sparring with swords, and is a champion Struggle fighter.
-He’s good at skateboarding, using it as a way to complete several errands. That being said, he is good at running errands/completing missions.
-He is a team player, seen in the way he interacts with his friends, and during his time in the Organization.
-Not sure if you can count this as strength, but he loves ice cream, especially sea salt flavor.

Weaknesses:
-Even though he tends to figure plots out easier than Sora, Roxas is just as easy to dupe.
-Roxas has a need to learn the truth, even if it ends badly for him.
-His anger and the uncontrollable rage he can work up is very much a weakness.
-He thinks too much.
-He’s about as good with computers as Sora is. Which isn’t very good.
-He has a tendency to rebel against authority. He doesn't like being tied down to one place.
