[ She wonders about this "digital creation" bit he mentioned, but since it seems to be something that he's glad he's not a part of anymore... All she can do is smile and nod. ]

It does. Finally something to call our own...

[He nods]

I guess that's why it means so much to me. My pokemon, the badges I've collected, they're something I've done, with my own power.

This world really was a fresh start for us.

It is... [ She smiles, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes as she gazes back at the ocean. For all the good this world is, Xion still... wanted to go back, despite what it would mean for her own existence. ]

[Roxas sits in silence for a bit]

Hey Xion...did we ever go to a beach?

[ She's silent herself for a time. ]

Not... together.

But we did go to beaches?

[ Slowly shakes her head. ]

But... now we can here?

I meant, like before. We did go to beaches, just not together.

I actually wouldn't know. With you, at least.

I can't remember if I did or not. Everything from before...it's fuzzy.

What happened, Roxas? Well, if you want to talk about it...

You mean...why everything's fuzzy? I guess you have right to know about all that.

Even then... [ She wouldn't want to ruin the mood bringing up things that displease him. ]

It's alright. It's been a year, so I think I can talk about it now.

[He figures it's now or never. You're supposed to reflect after a year, right?]

Okay.

[ She waits for the story, then. ]

I don't remember a whole lot, but I think it must have been after I fought you that I headed back to the World that Never Was, for some reason, but I ended up fighting Riku, and losing.

[He pauses a bit since he's still kind of bitter about that.]

After that, I don't really remember what happened, except that I woke up in Twilight Town, and it was like I'd been there my entire life. And then weird things kept happening to me.

"Weird things"? [ Riku and Roxas fought? It must have been for good reason... ]

Yeah. I didn't know it at the time, but there were...dusks? that showed up and stole all our photos, even the word. And then I kept seeing stuff and time kept glitching, and no one else was noticing it. And then during the struggle tournament Axel showed up, but I didn't know it was him because my memory had been altered. We ended up fighting.

[And he feels really bad about all of it now]

[ And Axel fighting Roxas. While it does worry her, Xion thinks of a morbid thought about how Axel seems fated to fight his friends. Only briefly, though. She remembers the Dusks, yes. ]

Did you... win against Axel?

Yeah, I did. But that just kept making things weirder. There was a guy in red and Namine was there, and it was like I kept fading in and out, while I kept having dreams about Sora and everything he's done, but I didn't know it was Sora at the time.

The last day was probably the worst.

[ A guy in red... Xion's eyes light up as the image of the man comes up in her head. ] A man in red...

Then what happened on the last day? [ "Last day." Last day, did that mean...? ]

On that last day, I was trying to do things like I usually did, or at least, I thought I usually did, but then when I got to the Usual Spot, it was like I wasn't even there. Hayner, Pence, Olette, they didn't even see me. And then Axel showed up again, and said that he had to destroy me but he didn't want to. And then I went to the mansion and that's when I found out that everything was digital, and that I'd been brought there so that they could wake up Sora.

Right before that happened, I ended up here.

[ They were keeping Sora there... But when he gets to the last bit of his story, she looks up. ]

... I'm sorry all of that happened to you, Roxas.

[Roxas is silent for a bit, looking for the right words]

Why are you sorry?

Maybe if I was there... Or if things had been different... [ Hm, it is difficult to find the right words. But she wishes he'd been treated better. ]
