He's glad that Roxas is agreeing to spar.]

[Sora leave a Christmas gift for Roxas! It's a set of custom made leather bookmarks. A set of three. A cog, Roxas' token necklace charm and the last with a tiny ice cream charm. There is also a new winter beanie that matches his wristband.

[Riku leaves an envelope for Roxas. Inside is a coupon for buy one, get one free at the local ice cream parlor and a note.]

I remember you like ice cream so I thought it appropriate.

[Riku hadn't gotten to know Elize very well, having only hung out with her a couple of times, but he had liked her. She had always been kind to him and had helped him with shopping for winter clothes. He's very sorry to see her go...again. But he knows without a doubt that Roxas is taking it hard. The few times he's seen the blond since he heard the news he had been even quieter than usual with an expression like someone had kicked his cat.

He doesn't know a lot about comforting people, not unless those people are Sora or Kairi, but Riku figures that it can't hurt to do something nice for the other teen while he's down. Which is what brings him to standing outside of Roxas' door, a plated sandwich in one hand and a glass of milk in another. Who doesn't feel better with some food?]

Roxas?

[Roxas has been taking it hard. He really should have been expecting this but he thought that maybe, just maybe, he could have a little hope. Guess the universe really wanted Roxas to hate it.

He's kept to himself as a result, hiding in his room and taking a few days off of work. He's back to not knowing what to feel. Sad? Angry? A mix of everything? It's difficult to say the least.

He doesn't expect the knock, or Riku's voice on the other side.]

Yeah?

I'm coming in.

[That's all the warning he gets before Riku is opening the door and sliding inside, pulling the door shut behind him. The last thing either one of them needs is Sora hearing them talk and think that he should be invited in too. He loves his friend, but there are just times when his overwhelming optimism can do more harm than good.]

I brought you something to eat.

[He stands awkwardly for a moment, plate and glass in hand. Now that he's here he's wondering if this was a stupid idea.]

[Roxas looks up when Riku says that, his surprise mounting. He's really not sure what to make of this, considering that he's typically kept his distance from Riku due to their past. It doesn't seem like him to bring Roxas a sandwich.

Though when he sees it, his stomach growls. How long had it been since he last ate?]

Uh...thanks.

[He'll sit up a little more to take the plate.]

Why?

[By now there's been a gift that showed up for Sora and Riku on the doorstep and Arden finally figures that it'd be pretty rude to not get Roxas something as well.

Thanks to Sora taste-testing for him, Arden whips up a giant batch of Sea Salt Ice Cream and leaves half in his own fridge - with the recipe - then teleports into the house when Roxas isn't around to leave the other half-batch (in a full gallon tub) inside of the guys' freezer. Roxas did give permission, after all.

Finally, he sends Roxas a message: ]

Sorry it's late, but check your freezer. Merry Christmas, - Arden

[Roxas gets the note and follows the instructions. There is a considerable amount of flailing about this. It's not quite the bar form that he's familiar with, but it's the closest thing he's had to his favourite ice cream in a long time. It's definitely the pick me up he's needed and he's not going to share.

Roxas feels like he needs to do more for Arden, but for now, like Sora and Riku, he receives a scarf with a moon pattern on it, along with the first book of the series that he also gave to Sora. ]

[Roxas will be getting a yellow rose with a white ribbon wrapped around it. There is also a box of heart-shaped chocolates. The card reads:]

[Awkward flailing. Why are you so nice to him?]

[Awkward flailing. How does he Valentine's day?]

[It's one of those quiet days where Roxas isn't doing a whole lot. Mostly hanging out in his room, reading, with his cat curled up beside him. It's a moment where he actually feels okay, like things are right with the universe and for the moment, he can breathe a little. It says a lot that the door to his room is actually open.

The room itself is a mess, mostly with books and clothes haphazardly piled places with the vague sense of organization that maybe Roxas could explain if he tried hard enough. There's a few pictures on a relatively unused dresser, mostly of Roxas and the friends he'd made here. There's a layer of dust, more from Roxas's laziness than anything else, but one of the frames is face down.]

[ Things have evened out quite a bit, yes; and while not all of it makes sense to Axel just yet, he's got enough of a foothold by now to know his way around this place he's apparently stuck in.

But at least his best friend's stuck with him. Matters could be much worse. Plus, Roxas is starting to turn a corner now, finally; or at least, they're back to their old habit of ice cream for two with a view. It's an improvement from Axel's initial arrival, and a vast one. He'll take it.

On this day, he'd intended to swing by and ask about the aforementioned habit, hoping a knock on the door would yield a friendly, familiar face...

But knocking isn't required, apparently. ]

Hey, you've got your door open, for once.

[ With that, a fire-haired head comes into full view. Perfect time for him to lean against the frame, as though he's holding it up entirely. ] What's the occasion?
